At the age of eighteen, David’s father, a WW2 fighter pilot, died in his early fifties from a heart attack. Since then he has experienced seven further seasons of grief, two of which concerned his first wife and eldest daughter. While studying agriculture, his life was radically interrupted at a Billy Graham Crusade in 1968. In 1980 he left the agricultural scene in pursuit of his growing passion, people.
